Sindh government announces to open public transport after Eid.

The Sindh government took U turn today after refusing to open public transport yesterday, Transport Minister Awais Shah said that public transport will be opened after Eid.

Provincial Minister for Transport Sindh Awais Shah while talking to media said that preparations have been started to restore transport under security arrangements, final approval will be given by Sindh Chief Minister on Monday.

Awais Shah said that preparations have been started to restore transport under the Code of Conduct (SOPs). A four-point summary has been prepared to provide relief to the transporters, the final approval of which will be given by the Sindh Chief Minister in a meeting on Monday.

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Imran Khan had said in a media briefing yesterday that all decisions are taken in consultation and it could not be fully decided on transport whether to open or not as one or two provinces have objections.

He said that I request everyone to open public transport, despite the deaths in the United States and Europe did not close transport and air traffic, then why have we done?

In his response to the Prime Minister’s statement, Awais Shah said that they respect the order of the Prime Minister but cannot open public transport, the number of cases is increasing day by day and in such cases transport cannot be opened.

Awais Shah said that the Prime Minister wants to make the country Wuhan or Italy by opening public transport, It is feared that the country will become Italy due to easing of lockdown.

In addition, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have announced the opening of public transport.
