Opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif did not appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Excess Assets case but submitted a detailed reply.
Special arrangements were made to prevent Shahbaz Sharif from corona while appearing at the NAB office in Lahore but Shahbaz Sharif did not appear.
Opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif has submitted a reply to the NAB stating that the corona virus is at its peak at present. Some NAB officials have also fallen victim to corona.
Shahbaz Sharif said that I am 69 years old and also a cancer patient, NAB investigation team can ask me questions through Skype.
Earlier on May 4, Leader of the Opposition Shahbaz Sharif had appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore in the Excess Assets case.
Shahbaz Sharif remained in the NAB office for about two hours but NAB officials had said that Shahbaz Sharif could not answer the questions related to money laundering and could not satisfy the investigation team so he was summoned again on June 2.
It may be recalled that earlier also NAB had summoned Shahbaz Sharif on April 17 and 22 for investigation but he did not appear.
Sources said that the inquiry into the case of assets in excess of income is in the final stages and answers to questions from Shahbaz Sharif are very important.
It may be recalled that Shahbaz Sharif had been arrested by the NAB earlier in the Ashiyana Housing and Ramzan Sugar Mill case but the Lahore High Court had granted him bail on February 14, 2019.
Shahbaz Sharif had left for London on November 19, 2019 with his brother Nawaz Sharif for treatment but he returned home on March 22 and said that he would fight with the people against the corona epidemic in the country. The life and death of Nawaz Sharif and our entire family is with the nation.
