Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved to start train service with standard code of conduct (SOPs) from May 20 to May 30.
Sheikh Rashid said that he would look into the arrangements in Peshawar tomorrow and then the day after tomorrow he would reopen the green line.
He said that if the situation remained good till May 31, all the trains would be reopened from June 1. If people follow the rules, everything is fine, citizens should not come to pick up or drop off any passenger.
The Railway Minister said that there is no difference with any province, the railway is a chain of four provinces, the train ride has been halved, the rate has not been increased while the staff of the railway has been increased.
He said that we are not subordinate to the provinces but still respect the provinces. I will ask Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to keep our arrangements in order.
He further said that there is no conspiracy against the government, NAB is not looking at the amendment in the ordinance, I will not support the amendment. All those who have looted country will be inside.
It may be recalled that yesterday regarding the restarting of trains in the country, Sheikh Rashid said that the trains belong to the whole of Pakistan and I will not talk to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to open them.
In his response to Sheikh Rashid’s statement, Sindh Transport Minister Awais Qadir Shah said that the train will not run in Karachi , Sheikh Rashid is less concerned about the lives of the people and more concerned about running the train.
