Former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Mir Afzal has been appointed caretaker Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The federal government has also issued a notification for the appointment of Mir Afzal and he will take oath of office tomorrow.
Mir Afzal hails from Astor Bunji area of Gilgit-Baltistan.
On the other hand, according to official sources, the names of the caretaker cabinet have been finalized.
Official sources said that along with Mirafazal Khan, Sarwar Shah, Waqar Abbas, Sulaiman Wali, Samina Baig, Iman Shah, Muhammad Ali and Aftab Khan will join the caretaker cabinet.
According to official sources, Dr Hassan, Advocate Yaseen, Syed Shabia Hasnain, Arif Aslam and Nasir Zamani are also in the caretaker cabinet.
According to official sources, the caretaker Chief Minister and members of his cabinet will be called to the Kashmir Ministry and will take oath of office tomorrow.
It may be recalled that Gilgit-Baltistan has been ruled by PML-N for five years and Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman has been the Chief Minister. Gilgit-Baltistan elections are scheduled for September.
