A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane crashed in the Model Colony area of ​​Karachi, just 5 km from the runway of Jinnah International Airport, due to a technical glitch. The plane was carrying 91 passengers and seven crew members.

A conversation has taken place between the cockpit and the control tower of the crashed plane, according to which the PIA pilot reported the engine malfunction to the tower before the plane crashed.

The control tower sent a message to the pilot that both runways were empty. The pilot heard a message from the control tower and said “Roger” while the next moment the pilot called “Mayday Mayday”. 

Mayday is an emergency procedure word used internationally as a distress signal in voice-procedure radio communications. It is a sign of distress.
