Nawabshah: Additional Inspector General of Sindh Police (AIG) Ghulam Nabi Memon has revealed that during the investigation they have come to the conclusion that journalist Aziz Memon was killed, his death was not natural, master mind of Aziz Memon’s murder, Mushtaq Sehto, Nazir Sehto has also confessed his guilt.
Talking to media in Nawabshah, AIG Ghulam Nabi Memon said that the accused tried hard to hide themselves but could not escape the clutches of the law. All the agencies cooperated fully during the interrogation. Five more have been arrested.
He said that after the confessional statement, accused Nazir Sehto has been handed over to the police on judicial remand and two other accused on one day physical remand.
AIG Sindh said that journalist Aziz Memon was killed, death was not natural, Aziz Memon was killed in enmity, accused Nazir Sehto’s DNA was matched, Nazir also mentioned the names of more accused during interrogation and in the court confessed his guilt.
He said that the main accused is Mushtaq Sehto who was the mastermind of the murder. I will not say anything unconfirmed. Aziz Memon was killed due to enmity. Further investigation is underway.
Talking to media, Abdul Hafeet Memon, brother of the deceased journalist, said that no compromise will be made on the murder of Aziz Memon.
Abdul Hafeez Memon said that 200 people were interrogated and questioned in the case and they are satisfied with the investigation so far.
It may be recalled that Aziz Memon’s body was found in a canal near Mehrabpur on February 16.
Police on February 19 registered a case against four unidentified persons, including Aziz Memon’s cameraman.
The slain journalist Aziz Memon became famous during Bilawal Bhutto’s train march last year when he told the story of women who brought Rs. 200 in a train march.
After the news, the slain journalist Aziz Memon was receiving threats which he had expressed many times.
