Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has announced to close shopping malls and other shops in the province for the next two days.
The provincial government has taken a big step after the Corona virus cases in Punjab have stepped up and decided to close shops for the next two days.
Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar said that the people should stay in their homes for the next 2 days and keep their families safe.
He said that shopping malls and other shops are being closed from tonight 9pm to 9am on Tuesday as well as tourist places will be closed for two days.
Usman Buzdar said that bakeries, milk, poultry shops, medical stores, vegetable markets and general stores would remain open while transport would continue throughout the province.
The Chief Minister further said that it is not a lockdown but a decision taken to maintain social distance.
Provincial Minister of Health Dr Yasmin Rashid said that the situation of any Corona patient in Punjab is not a concern, Punjab is providing excellent facilities at Quarantine Centers.
It is to be noted that 41 more Corona cases have been reported in Punjab today, after which the total number of patients has increased to 137 in the province.
Apart from this, 3 people have been killed due to corona virus in Pakistan while the number of affected patients is 729 out of which 357 in Sindh, 137 in Punjab, 103 in Balochistan, 55 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 27 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 10 in Islamabad and 10 in Azad Kashmir.
It may be recalled that in the last few days, shopping malls and other markets closure were announced in Sindh province for 15 days after which other provincial governments have adopted the same strategy.
