Electric power distributor private company K Electric has requested National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to raise electricity prices.
According to NEPRA , the watchdog company of electricity companies in the country, K Electric has requested a two-quarter adjustment for the increase in electricity tariff.
According to NEPRA, K-Electric’s request states that the price of electricity per unit should be increased by one paise to 37 paise during the quarter from April to June.
A Rs 44 paise per unit increase has been sought for the quarter from July to September 2019.
NEPRA says K Electric has also applied for a monthly fuel price adjustment of 6 months this fiscal year.
KK Electric’s petitions will be heard in Islamabad on March 4.
