More than 10,000 sacks of wheat disappeared from the food department in Sindh and government warehouses in Thatta.
The sale of 6,247 sacks from Sajawal’s warehouse and 4,485 sacks of makali warehouse in Thatta district was revealed while grass was recovered from wheat sacks during the investigation.
According to the report, the disappearance of more than 10,000 sacks of wheat from government warehouses was discovered when a dispute arose between the warehouse and the district food controller.
District Food Controller Nazzat Abbasi says that Yusuf Shah, the in-charge of the warehouse in Makli and Yasin Shah, the in-charge of Sajawal warehouse, have formed a three-member inquiry committee.
District Food Controller says anti-corruption Sindh has been called to investigate the matter further.
