The Islamabad High Court has expressed gratitude to the Railways and Interior Ministry for failing to submit an inquiry report of the Tezgam Express tragedy.
The court has summoned the Secretary of Interior and the Secretary of Railways in personal status. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani gave remarks that people were burnt. The ministeries are sleeping. Should we call the Prime Minister to inform him that your two ministries are not working?
The Islamabad High Court on Monday expressed its disappointment over the negligence of ministries of Pakistan Railway and interior for not preparing the inquiry report of Tezgam tragedy. The court remarked that the Railways considered the Islamabad High Court a post office. They are oppressing people in Islamabad.
During the hearing on the petition filed for the investigation of the incident, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani gave strong remarks that it has been 5 months, yet it is being said that if the report comes, we will give it.
The court summoned the secretary of the interior and the secretary of railways, including his investigating officer, at the next hearing. The case has been adjourned till February 24.
