The chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Justice Retired Javed Iqbal, in the executive board meeting, approved another reference against former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
It is to be noted that the hearing of the LNG case against Shahid Khakhan Abbasi is being held in accountability court.
A new reference will now be filed against former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the LNG scandal.
According to the NAB statement, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been accused of abusing his powers as a petroleum minister.
He is alleged to have hired the former Managing Director and Deputy Management Director of Pakistan State Oil (PSO), irrespective of the rules and regulations, giving the national exchequer Rs 138.66 million.
The NAB meeting also ordered seven new inquiries, including an inquiry against former PML-N minister Burjees Tahir.
It was decided in the meeting that a reference to corruption will be filed against former member Sindh Revenue Board Ghulam Ali Shah, Abdul Sabhan Memon and others.
They have been accused of illegally allotting government land worth up to Rs 12 crore.
In addition, various inquiries were also approved against former Minister Saleem Goraya, Member of the National Assembly Basti Ahmed Sultan and Sardar Nasrullah Khan Darshak.
