Government decides to include Pervez Khattak in Talks with Muslim League Q

The federal government also decided to include Defense Minister Pervez Khattak in talks with the Muslim League (Q).

The federal government has formed separate committees to negotiate with the allies in the past and the PML-Q talks committee comprises of Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar, Chief Minister Usman Bazdar and Federal Minister for Education and Training Shafqat Mahmood.

The PML-Q had expressed reservations over the new government negotiating committee despite Shafqat Mahmood’s meeting, after which it has now been decided to include Pervez Khattak again.

It is to be noted that the old negotiating committee from PML-Q included Defense Minister Pervez Khattak and PTI leader Jahangir Tareen.

According to sources, federal leaders of the members of the Punjab Committee have also been suggested to be involved in the discussions.

Sources said that PML-Q has also decided to include Pervez Khattak in the talks while Federal Minister Asad Omar will also be attending the talks.

The Government Committee is of the view that whatever matters are resolved with the PML-Q, the federal should also be aware.

Several members of the negotiating committee have recommended the implementation of the issues resolved by the Q-League, saying that what has been decided by the Q-League so far should be implemented.

On the other hand, a meeting between the Governing Committee and the PML-Q delegation will be held at the Chaudhry Brothers residence on Monday.

The issues of unity will be discussed at a meeting in Lahore.

It may be recalled that in the past, PML-Q leader and speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi refused to negotiate with the new government committee without implementing the agreement.
