Islamabad: The Executive Board of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has approved the closure of the investigation against Zulfi Bukhari, a special assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
A meeting of the NAB Executive Board was chaired by NAB Justice (R) Javed Iqbal.
The NAB statement issued after the meeting and has approved the closure of the inquiry against Zulfi Bukhari Special Assistance for Overseas Pakistan and Development Human Resources.
According to the NAB statement, the closure of the inquiry was granted on non-evidence basis.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman NAB said that NAB’s faith is corruption-free Pakistan.
It is clear that Zulfi Bukhari’s name also came to Panama Lakes due to offshore companies, which led to the investigation against him in NAB and he has appeared in NAB several times in this regard.
The NAB had claimed that Zulfi Bukhari had illegal offshore companies in the British Virgin Islands, and on June 15, 2019, the chairman NAB approved an official investigation against him.
However, now together the NAB has closed the inquiry against Zulfiqar Bukhari, saying they did not find solid evidence in the case.
Remember that in a statement on December 23, 2018, Zulfi Bukhari had said that the NAB investigation against him would end soon.
