MQM Pakistan’s convenor Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has announced his resignation from the federal cabinet.
Addressing a press conference with party leaders in Karachi, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that we had promised the government that we would help you in forming the government. We fulfilled our promise but at one point we did not progress.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that it was becoming difficult for me to sit in government. Sitting in my ministry raises a lot of questions so it is useless to sit in the federal cabinet now because sitting in my ministry will not help the people of Karachi.
On the question of the ministries’ proposal by Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, convener MQM said that there was talk of ministries in the past few days but we will continue our cooperation with the federal government.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that there were two agreements with PTI, one was in Bani Gala and the other in Bahadurabad, in the presence of Jahangir Tareen.
