Shahi Qila Lahore has been turned into a wedding hall under the eye of the Punjab government.
A wedding ceremony was held in Lahore’s famous Royal Fortress last year, which also damaged the site of UNESCO’s historic heritage.
The wedding ceremony was held in the royal kitchen of the royal fort which was attended by hundreds of people.
On the issue of converting the royal fort into a wedding hall, the managing director of the Lahore Walled City Authority, Kamran Lashari, said that the private company asked for written permission in the name of the annual dinner at the royal fort but stopped the wedding ceremony there.
He said he has Has filed a lawsuit against the private company and suspended Mohamed Bilal in charge of the royal fort.
Kamran Lashari says an inquiry has been ordered to investigate the matter, while private company security money has been seized.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, taking notice of the incident, has sought the report from the Lahore Walled City Authority and ordered an investigation to hold the wedding ceremony.
