Six children have been diagnosed with polio in Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Two more cases of polio have been reported in Sindh, according to spokesperson Emergency Operations Cell.
Punjab has also announced two new polio cases, following which an anti-polio campaign has been announced from January 13 in Dera Ghazi Khan, Laiyaah, Muzaffargarh, Sheikhupura and Gujranwala.
Both new cases of polio emerged in Dera Ghazi Khan, where 2 children of 6-months old and one-year-old age were diagnosed with the polio virus. Samples of both girls were obtained in December.
According to the Punjab Polio Program, one girl is disabled on both legs and the other left leg, both girls belong to poor families.
The KP Health Department has also confirmed 2 new polio cases in the province.
According to health officials, a 2-year-old child in Dera Ismail Khan and a 9-month-old girl in Lakki Marwat has been diagnosed with the polio virus.
According to the health department, samples were sent to the laboratory in December last month.
