The Sindh High Court granted bail in reference to assets beyond mean case of over 9 accused including Agha Siraj Durrani but also ordered the names of the accused to be included in the Exit Control List (ECL).
Sindh High Court today reserved judgment on bail plea of 9 accused including Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani. The court ordered the accused, including Siraj Durrani, to submit a passport and worth Rs 10 lakh. The court also ordered the names of the accused to be included in the ECL.
The other accused in the case are Aga Masihuddin, Tafil Ahmed Shah, Mitha Khan, Shamsuddin Khatoon, Aslam Pervez, Zulfiqar Ali Dahir, Gulzar Ahmed, and Shakeel Ahmed.
Agha Siraj Durrani’s wife, four daughters and two sons are absconding in the reference. According to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Agha Siraj Durrani and others are accused of making illegal assets worth Rs1.61 billion and are being heard in reference to the Karachi Accountability Court No. 3 for reference.
The Sindh High Court has issued a written judgment on the requests of 9 accused, including Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani, in reference to income over assets.
After the court verdict, the notification to remove Agha Siraj Durrani’s house as a sub-jail was also withdrawn, issued by the Superintendent of Landhi Prison. According to the written decision, the NAB is now required to prove that the allegations leveled at Agha Siraj are correct because the evidence presented does not show evidence, and further investigation is needed in this case.
