Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Kabul to Islamabad was prevented by Afghan authorities from using the big runway, after Pakistan took up the issue at the diplomatic level and was allowed the ship to fly.
The national airline PK-250 was set to return to Kabul from Islamabad today at Kabul International Airport, when suddenly, at the behest of the Afghan Civil Aviation Authority, air traffic control prevented the aircraft from taking off from the runway.
PIA pilots apologized for flying off the short runway, which was because it was not possible to fly the plane with 162 passengers.
In this situation, the pilot briefed the authorities in Pakistan after refusing to use the short runway.
Sources say Pakistani authorities raised the issue with the Afghan leadership in Istanbul, after which the ship was allowed to fly off the main runway after several hours delay.
