Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to raise 60,000 kanals of forests in Lahore to protect the smog.
Announcing the promotion of forests, the Prime Minister said that the deforestation was causing the air pollution of Lahore to increase.
He said that 70 percent of the trees have been reduced in the last 10 years, which is why smog is having such a bad effect on children.
Imran Khan said that he has decided to import clean petrol to deal with smog, oil will cost one and a half rupees extra but will not compromise on pollution.
A meeting of relevant bodies of the Punjab government was convened yesterday to address the issue, in which the prime minister was briefed on the steps taken by him regarding the smog.
On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League-N spokesman Maryam Aurangzeb criticized the prime minister’s declaration of forestry and said that it is impossible to eliminate ground smog until Imran Khan’s mental smog isn’t finished.
Spokesperson Muslim League-N said, “Because of the mental turmoil of you (Imran Khan), the economy, employment and business of the country has also been shaken. Tell me before planting a tree in Lahore.
