Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad said that the Army Chief was not wrong in the extension issue, the government did not complete the papers.
Reacting to the Supreme Court’s decision regarding extension of service of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Sheikh Rasheed said that no one has challenged the extension of army chief in the past, so there were shortcomings. Sheikh Rasheed said that the Army Chief will complete three more years, consider these 6 months extension as 3 years. We will make necessary legislation.
Railway Minister said that I can say that the PML-N is on-board on this issue. Why the PML-N will not vote? they will vote. Sheikh Rasheed said that if the decision came something else, he was ready for it. It is to be noted that the Supreme Court has given conditional permission for extension of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa for 6 months and asked the government to make clear legislation regarding the extension and tenure of Army Chief in 6 months.
