The JUI-F leader, Mufti Kifayatullah, was attacked by the suspects, resulting in his injuries.
According to police, unidentified men hit Mufti Kifayatullah’s car in Mansehra, after which five people attacked him with an iron rod which resulted in the injury of Mufti Kifayatullah. His son and a colleague were also injured. Police said Kifayatullah was fractured in the attack, who was rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate medical help.
Hussain Kifayatullah, son of Mufti Kifayatullah, says some vehicles stopped after tracking him and fired at him with weapons. Police have registered a case and the investigation has been launched.
It is to be noted that on October 27, Mufti Kifayatullah was arrested from Islamabad and shifted to Hari Pur jail after collecting donations for the March of Independence, following which the Peshawar High Court issued his order on the Abbottabad circuit.
Brother Habib-ur-Rehman also confirmed the incident and said that Mufti Kifayatullah, 2 sons and a colleague were also injured in the violence. Mufti Kifayat was coming to Mansehra from Islamabad. A case has been registered against 5 unidentified persons in connection with the attack on Mufti Kifayatullah. While sources say that the attack caused a fracture in the hands of Mufti, all the injured were shifted to a local hospital, while police have registered a case and started searching for the suspects.
