Today, after resigning from the Law Ministry, Senator Farogh Naseem has said that after his decision to resign and fight the case of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Prime Minister Imran Khan has told him to finish the case and return to the cabinet soon.
He has indicated that he will return to the cabinet after the case is over. On the other hand, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Shahzad Akbar, also affirmed that the law minister would return to the cabinet after fighting the case. It is pertinent to note that today, Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem has resigned from his ministry on behalf of the Army Chief to fight the case in court. Farogh Naseem has announced his resignation from the ministry after the federal cabinet meeting ended.
Shafqat Mahmood said that Barrister Frohim Naseem would appear in the Supreme Court as the Army Chief’s lawyer and follow the case. He stated that he could not advocate as a federal minister, so he has resigned from the ministry so that he can appear before the Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa as his lawyer and to follow the case.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan took the cabinet in confidence in this regard. All the members of the cabinet agreed to extend the term of army chief and a new summary was approved in this regard. Army Chief has been sent to the President for new summary approval for extension of service.
