Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) wins a vacant seat in the Senate. Recently, Pakistan Peoples Party Senator Khanzada Khan resigned from the Senate seat just a day after his son Zeeshan Khanzada joined the ruling Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Khanzada Khan was elected senator from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in March 2015 and was supposed to retire from the senatorship in March 2021. However, on the eve of the by-elections on the same vacant seat in the Senate, the PTI gave Zeeshan Khanzada a ticket and voting was held in the KP Assembly in this regard.
According to the unofficial results of the Senate by-election from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zeeshan Khanzada Senator of the PTI has been elected and he got 104 votes. According to the unofficial and unofficial result, the Opposition’s son Ali got 31 votes, 4 votes were rejected.
Of the 145 members of the KP Assembly, 139 cast their votes. 3 members of the Jamaat-e-Islami remained unopposed in the Senate elections while 3 members could not cast their votes because the members of assembly ware abroad.
