Tomato prices are increasing in the country, but ministers have been giving new advice to the nation without adopting strategies to control prices.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Shaukat Yusufzai has suggested the use of yogurt as a solution to the tomato crisis.
In a video statement, Shaukat Yusufzai said that tomatoes should be used instead of tomatoes, people should not buy expensive tomatoes, prices will come down automatically.
He said that the price of tomatoes increased because some people were stock piling while tomatoes were destroyed due to the rain in Sindh and prices would come down after reaching Malakand’s tomato in market within a few days.
They say that our people complain that poultry is expensive but still buy poultry, if people quit eating poultry, prices will automatically fall.
Earlier this month, Finance Adviser Abdul Hafeez Shaikh had said on the question of expensive tomatoes that tomatoes were being sold at Rs 17 per kg in Karachi, which he was criticized for.
It should be noted that tomato prices have been increasing in the country for the past several days and despite import of tomatoes from Afghanistan and Iran, tomatoes are being sold in Karachi for Rs 280 per kg while in other cities, tomato prices have not fallen.
