The Department of Education issued a notification to close all private and public educational institutions of the provincial capital on Thursday. According to details, Punjab Education Department has announced to close all the educational institutions of Lahore, the capital of the province, on Thursday.
According to the notification, all private and public educational institutions in the city will remain closed on Thursday after the air pollution situation worsens in Lahore. It should be noted that air pollution in Punjab’s capital Lahore has reached the most dangerous level in the city’s history.
According to media reports, the situation in Lahore on Wednesday evening worsened, and the city’s air quality index reached a dangerous level of 454. It has been reported that smog conditions will worsen in Lahore in one to two days after which it will become very difficult and dangerous for citizens to breathe in the air.
Following the deteriorating situation in Lahore, citizens have been urged to restrict their movement. Citizens who must travel must not leave their homes without a mask. Respiratory diseases are expected to spread due to the prevalence of smog in Lahore. As long as there is no torrential rains in the city of Lahore, the smog cannot be eliminated. According to the Meteorological Department, Lahore has only a 20% chance of rain.
