Foreign Office spokesman Dr. Muhammad Faisal said that the Indian Interior Ministry has shown its territory in the political maps to Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. We reject this political map of India.
He said that Indian political maps are wrong, illegal and violate UN resolutions so Pakistan rejects Indian maps which are incompatible with UN maps.
The Foreign Office said that such measures by the Indian government could not strip Kashmiris of their right to sovereignty, nor change the recognized status of the United Nations.
Dr Muhammad Faisal said that Pakistan would continue to support the legitimate struggle for self-determination of Kashmiris.
It should be remembered that the Bharatiya Janata Party, the extremist ruling party of India, on August 5 had abolished Article 370 of the Constitution giving special status to occupied Kashmir and made Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh a part of the Indian Union.
