Pakistani judo karate expert Shah Hussain Shah has made a place in the continental quota for the Tokyo Olympics after which his hopes for access to the Olympics, the biggest sporting event in 2020, have been strengthened.
Pakistani Judo Shah Hussain Shah recently took fifth place in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam. After this impressive performance, they got 360 points for the Olympics 2020, followed by their total score of 746 in the 2-year Olympics qualifying cycle.
Shah Hussain Shah’s ranking has improved from 20 to 42, after which he has been on the Continental quota list for Olympics.
Currently, Shah Hussain Shah’s position in the rankings is stable and he must remain in the top 57 by May 25, 2020 to confirm the Olympics.
Pakistan Judo Federation Secretary Masood Ahmed told Geo News that Shah Hussain Shah’s chances of accessing the Olympics are very high, if the government cooperates and Star Judo plays more events, there is no reason why Shah Hussain is not in the Olympics.
On a question, Masood Ahmed said that Shah Hussain Shah will try and improve his ranking and get direct qualification beyond the Continental quota for which he must come in top 18.
Massoud Ahmed emphasized that it was now very important to fulfill the judgments the government had made.
