The security delegation from Bangladesh visited the national stadium Karachi to review the security arrangements before the cricket team arrived in Pakistan.
The 4-member Bangladeshi delegation arrived in Karachi on Thursday night, when the delegation arrived at the National Stadium on Friday, Director International Zakir Khan and Manager Securities Colonel Usman Anwari briefed him on security and other arrangements, including representatives of security agencies.
The Bangladeshi delegation visited various parts of the stadium including General Standes, members of the delegation visiting the stadium also made photographs of various parts while inspecting the mobile control center.
The Bangladeshi delegation was also informed of the team bus box security. Earlier, the Bangladeshi delegation also called on the Home Secretary to discuss arrangements for the Bangladesh cricket team’s matches in Karachi in Pakistan.
Pakistan Cricket Board Director International Cricket Zakir Khan told the media that the Bangladeshi delegation has been given a briefing. After the visit, he will present the report to the Bangladeshi government and the board.
On a question, Zakir Khan said that he could not say whether the delegation was satisfied or not but PCB has given full briefing on all matters.
On a question, Zakir Khan said that the PCB had invited the Bangladeshi delegation to come here during the Sri Lankan team’s visit to Pakistan so that they could see the security in practice.
It should be noted that Bangladesh women’s cricket team has to reach Lahore for five limited-overs matches against Pakistan Women team on October 23 as well as their U-16 team coming to Pakistan this month.
Experts say that if the women team visits, it will pave the way for Pakistan to visit Bangladesh team scheduled in January.
The Bangladeshi delegation left for Lahore where the delegation also visited Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on Saturday to review security situation in various cities ahead of the Bangladesh team’s visit to Pakistan.
A four-member delegation of the Bangladesh Cricket Board reviewed the arrangements around the stadium.
Pakistan Cricket Board Director Cricket International Zakir Khan again accompanied by the delegation who briefed the delegation on arrangements and security.
