The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sacked Sarfraz Ahmed from captain of the national team whose inner story has also been revealed.
Sources said Sarfaraz Ahmad met PCB chief Wasim Khan this morning in which he asked Sarfaraz Ahmed to step down from the captaincy. Sources say that Sarfaraz Ahmad refused to accept Wasim Khan’s offer and said that they can drop him.
On the refusal of Sarfaraz, PCB chief executive Wasim Khan also dropped him from the squad and said that he could return to the team after restoring the form in domestic cricket.
On the other hand, sources also reported that Misbah-ul-Haq, the head coach and chief selector of the national team, had a detailed meeting with the Babar Azam in Faisalabad yesterday, in which he was informed about the leadership of the national team.
It should be noted that the Pakistan Cricket Board has removed Sarfraz Ahmed from the captaincy of all three formats, after which Azhar Ali has been appointed captain of the Test format while the Babar Azam has been handed over the captaincy of the Twenty20 team. PCB did not announce the captain of the one day’s team.
