After counting of votes for by-polls in Sindh Assembly constituency PS 11 Larkana, counting of votes is underway.
Polling began at 8am in PS11 Larkana, which continued till 5pm.
There is a fierce rivalry between the PPP’s Jamil Soomro and the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) chief Abbasi.
According to the unofficial and unofficial results of 88 polling stations, the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) chief Abbasi is ahead with 20474 votes, while PPP candidate Jamil Soomro is behind with 17297 votes.
Of the 138 polling stations in the constituency, 20 have been declared highly sensitive and 50 have been declared sensitive. Extreme security arrangements were made in the constituency to avoid any untoward incident.
It may be recalled that in the 2018 election, the GDA’s Prime Minister Abbasi had defeated Nida Khodro of the PPP, but on hiding 26 acres of land, the Supreme Court had declared the seat vacant and ordered re-election.
Abbasi is re-running for the seat while his opponent is Jamil Soomro of the PPP this time. In addition, there are 9 independent candidates in the field.
