Prime Minister Imran Khan met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in which a range of issues including bilateral issues and situation in the region were discussed.
At a joint press conference with Prime Minister Imran Khan after the meeting, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that Pakistan and Iran are neighboring countries. He said that during the meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan, he discussed recent events, especially on the Persian Gulf and other issues, and discussed security and peace situation.
Also, America’s coercive measures against Iran were discussed. Hassan Rouhani said that Pakistan and Iran can work together to stabilize the region, Pakistan and Iran believe that regional issues can be solved only through talks.
He said that Iran welcomesPrime Minister Imran Khan’s visit, and welcomes Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability of the region.
He said that goodwill will only be performed in response to goodwill, but if a country thinks that there will be no action for instability in the region then it is wrong. He said that the war in Yemen should be stopped immediately and people should be helped.
Hassan Rouhani said that the US should lift sanctions on Iran.
During the visit, Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet with Iranian leader Ayatollah Khamenei and senior Iranian leadership, while talks will be held at the delegation level between the two countries.
