Nawaz Sharif arrested in Chaudhry Sugar Mills Case
The accountability court granted former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif a 14-day physical remand in NAB custody in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. The PML-N leader and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was presented before the NAB authorities in the accountability court in connection with the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case hearing.
Strict security arrangements were made outside the court on the occasion of Nawaz Sharif’s presence, a large number of PML-N activists were present outside the accountability court, while the police blocked the road leading to the court, obstructing the police. The road was closed.
After hearing the arguments of the NAB prosecutor and Nawaz Sharif’s lawyers, the court handed over the former prime minister to the NAB on 14 days physical remand. Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal approved the arrest of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
NAB Lahore sources said that Nawaz Sharif is the main accused in Chaudhry Sugar Mills from which NAB officials want to investigate. For Nawaz Sharif, the NAB Day Care Center will be given the status of a sub-jail while additional personnel will be posted for security.
