Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Bazdar has inaugurated the dialysis unit at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute.
The Chief Minister also visited the patients during the visit of the dialysis unit. The Chief Minister inquired about the therapeutic facilities available to the patients.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Institute has provided quality medical facilities for kidney and liver patients. The hospital will be completed by the end of this year.
Sardar Usman Bazdar said that six more operation theaters will be functional by mid-October. This institute has 3 liver transplants and 31 kidney transplants this year. The completion of the other 3 floors will add 475 beds.

Usman Bazdar directed the Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab to expedite the pace of work and also inquired about the patients present at various clinics of the institute and asked them about therapeutic facilities.
First successful liver transplant surgery at PKLI
Sardar Usman Bazdar also met patients and their teammates at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute and inquired about the quality of their medical facilities.
The Chief Minister of Punjab gave a briefing on the affairs of the institute by the Secretary Specialized Health and Medical Education.
He was informed that about 48,000 patients were provided with OPD from January to September.
Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Secretary Specialized Health and Medical Education, Dean Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute and related officials were also present on the occasion.
