The federal investigation agency (FIA) has arrested a gang in Gujranwala responsible for stealing the data of citizens. As per details, the gang had the data of thousands of citizens of Gujranwala and used it for activating illegal sim cards.
According to the Federal Investigation Agency, the gang was stealing data of citizens from National Database And Registration Authority’s (NADRA) software. They had activated over one lac sim cards by illegal means.
FIA had recovered 10 thousand sim cards, eight biometric machines and 10 laptops. According to more details by the FIA the gang had rented a building of a local franchise which was used for illegal activities. FIA arrested owner of the franchise along with three other persons. The data was meant to be used for some terror activities, according to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The FIA will investigate the kind of activities the sim cards were meant to be used for.
