Babar Azam Breaks the world record of Virat Kohli

Against Sri Lanka at the National Stadium in Karachi, Babar Azam got out after scoring 105 balls 115 with 4 sixes and eight fours. This is the 11th century of his career which he made using 97 balls.

In the record of centuries, Babar Azam has surpassed the Indian captain Virat Kohli and scored 11 career centuries in his 71st innings while Virat Kohli made 11 centuries in the 82nd inning.

South Africa’s Hashim Amla completed 11 centuries in 64 innings and Quentin de Kock completed 11 centuries in 65 innings.

Babar Azam crossed another milestone in his 71st innings and has become the first player to score a thousand ODI runs in a calendar year after 2013.

Earlier in 2013, Misbah-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez scored thousand, thousand runs in a year.

Babar Azam is the 10th Pakistani player to score a thousand or more ODI runs a year, before Muhammad Yousuf has performed this feat three times, while Ejaz Ahmed, Amir Sohail, Mohammad Hafeez and Inzamam-ul-Haq has scored a thousand ODI runs twice a year.

Javed Miandad, Misbah-ul-Haq, Younus Khan and Saeed Anwar performed this feat once.
