Former mystery off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has challenged the Pakistan cricket board to find another spinner like him who is capable of doing things he used to do. Saeed Ajmal expressed his disappointment over the lack of support by the Pakistan Cricket Board following his suspension by the Cricket governing body.
The former off-spinner also criticized ICC for not considering his media condition before banning him from bowling.
“My medical condition should have been taken into account before placing a bowling ban on me but ICC did not do that. The bend in my arm was due to an accident and I can’t do anything to change that,” Saeed Ajmal Said.
Saeed Ajmal also expressed his disappointment over the lack of support from PCB. He stated that PCB’s lack of support was due to the fact that they thought that another Saeed Ajmal will come but nobody came.
“The PCB did not support me on this issue and instead asked me to correct my bowling action. They must have thought that another Saeed Ajmal will come along, although they have not been able to find one,” He added.
Saeed Ajmal also stated that neither the current off-spinner are worldvclass nor our batsmen are good enough to play spin just as they used to be.
“We are not producing quality spinners while our batsmen are also not good at playing spin bowling. In the past, we used to dominate the spinners and score loads of runs against them but now the complete opposite is happening.”
Ajmal went on to add that only Yasir Shah is currently capable of delivering according to the situation of test matches.
“Currently I don’t see anyone, except for Yasir Shah, who can bowl in accordance with the requirements of Test cricket but there are many, such as the likes of Shadab Khan, Zafar Gohar, Mohammad Nawaz, who are well-equipped to play the shorter formats of the game.”
