In order to improve the literacy rate in the province the government of Punjab has decided to open 100 new schools in the province. It was decided during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister was also told about the education ministry’s plan of establishing mobile schools for children. As per the initial plans of the government, ten new mobile schools will be established in buses. The plan will later on be expanded.
As far as the hundred new schools are concerned, it was told during the meeting that the new schools will be set up in rented buildings. It was being estimated that the two projects will cost approximately 260 million rupees.
The Chief Minister approved the plan and directed the concerned authorities to present a comprehensive plan for the program. The CM also directed the authorities to take every possible step for the promotion of education in the province.
