Prime Minister Imran Khan said the world must unite to fight climate change and that countries responsible for emitting toxic gas should help other countries.
Pakistan and Malaysia held a joint conference on the topic of poverty alleviation at the UN General Assembly meeting in New York.
Addressing the conference, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the world is facing serious environmental changes and the effects of global warming are beginning to become apparent. To cope with this, the world needs to come up with a consensus.
Imran Khan said the deadly effects of global warming also reach Pakistan. Glaciers in our region are melting fast and forests are extremely scarce. Therefore, we have planted one billion trees in 5 years to fight climate change while in the next 5 years we have planned to plant 10 billion trees.
The Prime Minister said that countries responsible for the emission of toxic gas should help other countries to be able to withstand global warming.
