The decision was taken following heavy rains in Karachi that resulted in abandoning the first ODI today. Due to high possibility of rain on Sunday the decision was taken by the two Cricket Boards.
The second one day international which was scheduled to take place on sunday will now be played on Monday, 30th September. As per the match tickets of first ODI are concerned, those who possess the tickets of first ODI can use it to watch either second or third ODI. Those who don’t wish to go to any of the last two matches will be refunded, as per the press release by PCB.
“This week’s unseasonal heavy rains have forced us to review the series schedule. I am thankful to Sri Lanka Cricket as well as our host broadcasters for agreeing to amend the match schedule to ensure there are no further abandonments due to rain in what is an important bilateral FTP series for Pakistan,” said PCB Director – International Cricket, Zakir Khan.
The last ODI will be played on October 2, after which the two teams will move to Lahore for the T20 Series.
