An election tribunal of the Balochistan High Court has ordered repolling in NA 265 Balochistan. The mentioned constituency was won by PTI’s Qasim Khan Suri.
Qasim Khan Suri was later on elected as the Deputy Speaker of the national assembly. The election has now been declared null and void following an application by the runner up candidate against his victory.
The runner up candidate —Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani of the Balochistan National Party— had alleged Qasim Khan Suri of wining the election through rigging.
The decision was earlier reserved by the election tribunal after listening to the arguments of the two parties. Justice Abdullah Baloch announced the verdict today declaring the election null and void.
The election tribunal ordered re-election on the seat won by Qasim Khan Suri. The Election Commission of Pakistan will announce the date of repollin later on.
