The Australian Cricket Chief concluded his visit of Pakistan on Thursday. Talking to media after concluding his visit of Pakistan the Cricket Australia Chief said that the purpose of his visit was to review the security situation in Pakistan. He added that he wanted to see the kind of security plan Pakistan has for the visiting teams.
“The purpose was really to understand the landscape, look at the plans they have in place around security and then start expressing our expectations for the safety of our players and our support staff well over two years away from when we’re due to tour,” he said.
The Cricket Australia Chief said that as of now things are heading in the right direction. He also expressed his desire of seeing international cricket return to Pakistan. He went on to add that we are hopeful of touring the cricket loving nation in the next two years but we have to consider the security situation there.
“We have got the next couple of years to hopefully plan for a tour in 2022 but we have just got to set that out carefully, bit by bit, rather than rushing into it.”
The Australian Cricket team is scheduled to tour Pakistan for a series in 2022.
