Star Cricketer Shahid Khan Afridi has revealed the reason behind the denial of Senior Sri Lankan Players to tour Pakistan for the upcoming series. Afridi has said that pressure from administration of Indian Premier League (IPL) is the reason behind the exit of senior Sri Lankan Players including Lasith Malinga, Dimuth Karunratne, Thisara Perera, Niroshan Dickwella, etc.
The series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka begins on September 27 with three ODIs and three Twenty20 matches for which Sri Lankan players will arrive in Pakistan on September 25, but some Sri Lankan players will be coming to Pakistan.
Talking to the media in Karachi, Shahid Afridi said that Pakistan always supported Sri Lanka, senior players of Pakistan never refused to go to Sri Lanka so the Sri Lankan cricket team players should also come to Pakistan.
Shahid Afridi has also demanded the Sri Lankan board to pressurize the central contract players to send to Pakistan.
He said that any Sri Lankan player visiting Pakistan will always be remembered in our history.
The former captain of the national team revealed that whenever Sri Lankan players were invited to play cricket in Pakistan during the PSL, they said they wanted to come but they were told by the Indian Premier League if If they go to Pakistan, their contract will be terminated.
