The joint session of Parliament here on Thursday turned into battlefield as President Arif Alvi started to address the house. Lawmakers from both the ruling and opposition benches raised slogans against each other.
Lawmakers from Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz brought pictures of Ranasanaullah, Saad Rafique and Shahid Khaqan abbasi to protest against their arrest. Prime Minister Imran Khan was also present during the joint parliament session. Prime Minister was seen smiling as the opposition and government members turned the parliament into a battlefield.
Addressing the parliament, President Arif Alvi addressed the Indian atrocities in Kashmir. President also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability in the region. The second parliamentary year formally commences after President Arif Alvi’s constitutionally mandated speech.
The session of national assembly will be held on monday.
