Pakistan to host trilateral Afghan peace talks and trying to maintain the safe exile of American Forces from Afghanistan. The third round of China-Afghanistan-Pakistan Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Dialogue to discuss the peace process and security cooperation’ is being held in Islamabad on Saturday. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Islamabad earlier today to attend the meeting and Qureshi Foreign Minister of Pakistan welcomed him very passionately.
Earlier, talking to the media representatives in Islamabad, the foreign minister said: “Today’s meeting is crucial as it will allow discussing the developing situation at the eastern border including the Kashmir issue as well as the western border with a focus on Afghanistan.”After these successive meetings Afghan citizens also get benefit from CPEC.
The trilateral meeting between US, China and Afghanistan is being held amid reports of an imminent peace accord between the US and Afghan Taliban after months of negotiations. China-Afghan-US trilateral meeting would provide Islamabad with an opportunity to share its perspective with the two countries.The dialogue provided an opportunity to illustrate the joint efforts made by the three countries on political cooperation and facilitating the Afghan peace and reconciliation process since the last round.
