Hijabi po-rn is an emerging genre in the adult film industry, which pundits say serves as titillation as well as creating a discussion about women’s liberation in the Muslim world. It has created strong emotions, as the star of the film, Women of the Middle East, Nadia Ali has been attacked and subjected to death threats.
The Pakistani-American ad-ult film star remains unbowed by the criticism, who says she was “doing po-rn as a Pakistani woman for the liberal movement, bringing women in a scarf or a head wrap to the camera. Now it’s no longer behind closed doors.”
The 24-year-old practicing Muslim says: “For me, it’s about the Pakistani culture, not the religion.” She also has plans to do les-bian scenes in the future. “This year I plan to do a lot of girl-on-girl and solo scenes to show the world that Middle Eastern girls of Pakistani descent really do get horny. Since they are so forbidden to f**k, I want to show how they f**k girls and mastu-rbate,” she told the Daily Beast.
I know what I’m doing and I own it! Also who are you to tell me about me ? I’m well aware of what identity I created for myself …

Women of the Middle East shows scenes of a woman wearing just a veil and a thong, dragging a man in chains around the countryside. Another scene in the film portrays the lead female star, Kelly Madison, as the dominatrix in a variety of BDSM roles.
“For a Middle Eastern woman, veiling is not just a way to suppress her from having sexual freedom,” say the makers of Women of the Middle East. “It is a symbol for all of the human rights violations against these women such as rape and domestic violence. Take the veils off!”
Mia Khalifa, a Leban-ese adult film star, has also received death threats for also wearing a hijab in some of her movies. The most difficult ones were those telling her she was a disgrace to her country and that she should kill herself, she told The Washington Post. One user posted an image taken from an Islamic State “execution” video, wearing an orange jumpsuit, with her head digitally pasted on the victim.
