So this is how this supposedly respectable, leading journalist's mind works:
1. He says that Raymond Baker is only talking a few hundred millions worth of corruption in Pakistan (although $440 million related to Nawaz Sharif, if proven, can pay off the circular debt, which is the main cause of load shedding in Pakistan!) whereas in Indonesia, etc. their leaders looted tens of billions of dollars. I have two issues with this line of reasoning: One, we don't give a crap about who looted what in Indonesia or Nigeria–we are Pakistanis and want to ask questions of our own leaders. Let the 220 million Indonesians go after Suharto. And two, according to your logic, killing three people is not a crime as long as someone else has killed four! This type of crass moral relativism typically results from too much consumption of realpolitik and is extremely harmful to health.
2. Mr. Sethi then sniggers and promulgates, twitching his mustache in delight, that Khawaja Asif had proof as he downloaded the documents from SKMH website and then ripped through them to find the supposed financial "malfeasance" of the best run insntitution, either private or public, in Pakistan. Mr. Sethi then adds, almost delirious with joy at his own mental acuteness: why does'nt Imran provide similar proof to support his accusations against Nawaz Sharif? Well, please email us the website addresses where the Sharif clan has declared its accounts, both personal and business, and I am sure PTI accountants can download the documents and do some real forensic work and come up with stuff that will make the clan's head spin!
3. Mr. Sethi then advises that Mr. Khan should provide evidence to the court, if he has any, instead of accusing. In the next breath, he says that in Pakistan, the court system is so broken that it is impossible to get a conviction as the investigative authorities never do their job. So what is the point? Is he trying to say: kar lay, jo karna ee, kujh wi ni honra? Pathetic!
4. Mr. Sethi then says that he was interviewed for the BBC documentary and said things that made the then PM (Mr. Nawaz Sharif) angry without saying what he said, what his sources were, and why it made the same guys, whose tunes he is singing, angry? According to him, none of the other papers had any proof in the Raymond Baker's book (they were Pakistani anyways, right?) so what proofs did he have that formed the basis for his interview to BBC?
I hang my head in shame–if this is the "cream of the crop" of our journalists, you can imagine what rotting crop we must have. Water fuelled car, anyone?

1. when did he say that more corruption in those countries is a justification of corruption in pakistan? and when did he say that its not a large amount? in fact, he recommends the book because he says that the sheer scale of corruption it chronicles is interesting. watch the first video 14 mins onwards and see why he's listing the other dictators. it is imran khan who is avoiding mentions of the army and AQ Khan in the same book that he is citing. if he has the courage, he should condemn them too.
2. khwaja asif did have documents to back up his claims. and imran khan does not. why this is the case is not the issue. the allegations on the sharifs has to do with their business and personal dealings, which isn't subject to public accounting the way non-profits like skmh are. all sethi said is that pmln produced documents to back up their concerns WHICH WERE ADDRESSED BY PTI (listen from 5:25 i the second video). whats wrong there? and you have quiet an imagination, you just made up the whole thing about the sniggering and him taking any visible delight in the accusations.
3. sethi pointed out that 3 of the cases are already in courts and with NAB. imran khan should either provide his evidence his friends in the courts, or become a party in the NAB investigation if he feels that he has something. this would be a better course of action than bringing up allegations that are pending as if they are proven.
what sethi said next was a response to a question as to why corruption is endemic in pakistan and the legal obstacles that come in the way to convicting corrupt people.
what do you suggest? that politicians should simply make allegations on each other without any burden of providing the evidence?
4. he gave an interview to the bbc for a documentary that wasn't flattering to the sharif govt. that's what made him angry. sethi never claims to have provided any special proof in the bbc interview. at 12:45 in the first video, he calls it a "chota mota sa interview".
sethi says that baker only cites newspaper journalists (he inlcudes himself in this category) in his work, which tend to be relatively unreliable references for books compared to the author's own research (baker didn't do any) or that of other authors and academics (he didn't do this either).

When Tallat give all the details and that was an account of the website of any newspaper. He give all the details of his assets, and challenged him to do it so, but he didn't.
