I am an investment professional working for an asset management firm which manages over $150 billion for clients, including giant endowments, around the world. I know what a diversified portfolio of assets looks like and I know the difference between speculation and illiquidity. Looking at all the investments in the SKMH portfolio, it does not strike me as “speculative.” And some one has to tell the ex BCCI (fondly known by regulators as the “Bank of Crooks and Criminals International”) banker Khawaja Sahib the difference between “realized” and “unrealized” losses and the concept of correlation/diversification.
