Some people try to make responsible to PTI deteat, but actually we see that Pti not take part actively in the same constituency, If Imran Khan would one time visit or held Jalsa there, exactly the PPP did, I think the whole sceniorio would change. By-election is NA-151 was a trailer of upcoming National election this fall. Before the election, Multan was filled with PPP and PTI flags. And like any other election there was only one winner in this election and that was PPP. After the election PTI is trying to disown its defeated candidate but it is too late. Fact remains that PTI lost in Multan to PPP. I hope this is “Politics Lesson 101” for Imran Khan as his so called Tsunami didn’t get converted to votes and a slap on face of PTI stalwarts from Multan; Pir Shah Mehmood Quershi and Javed Hasmi. If these so called heavy weighter can’t deliver in their own backyard then where else can they deliver? This also is a lesson for opposition as well. They all tried to backup PTI candidate but still couldn’t beat PPP, despite of PPP track record of last four years. If opposition wants to beat PPP in upcoming election then it has to unite and support only one candidate against PPP. I hope Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif has learned from this trailer, if not then instead of wasting their time in politics they should go and do something else.

It is democratic right of people of Multan to elect any one they want. We NEED to respect their right. If we start abusing and hate each other, our country wont prosper. Give you example, when mandate of Bengladesh's Awami League party won election and people is west Pakistan were fuirous that why did they elect such party and then Military ruler use that sentiment in his favor and East pakistan become Bengladesh. If we will not respect democratic mandate of people of Pakistan, we are actually creating more troubles and divide in pakistan. If we would have accepted mandate of people of Bengladesh at that time, it has not become another country, so we should now respect the people of Multan and it is their choice and who are we to judge them? Stay like brothers.
What democracy are you referring to? This isn’t a democracy, it’s a gross perversion of democracy. Right now we’re not a conducive country for a democratic system. We need a short-term dictatorship to violently rid Pakistan of feudalism, introduce land and education reforms, etc. Without these basic ingredients, a democratic system would continue to be hijacked and co-opted by the special interests and land owners.
But brother, who will define democracy, the one you like? BTW, this election was conducted under the Chief election commissioner who is sitting supreme court Judge, Justice Shakir ullah Jan and Punjab Govt belongs to PMLN, and provincial govt has gross root levem missionary to influence results. In short, despite all fairness, PPP won this seat and people of Multan voted back to their PPP, so we have no choice but to respect the mandate, this is how democracy functions. But if we create hue and cry, we will be sending wrong signals to whole Pakistan. We all believe in democracy and iit teaches us that who ever wins seat through proper channel, his mandate should be respects. FIRST OF HE IS THE SON OF RENOUND PEER FAMILY IN THAT REGION AND SECONDLY HE IS SON OF THE EX PRIME MINISTER WHO STILL HAVE INFLUENCE IN THE GOVT AND BEUROCRACY.SO HE STILL CAN HAVE THINGS DONE ACCORDING TO HIS WISHES AND INTREST. MOST OF VOTERS IN HIS RIDING ARE POOR AND WITH VERY LITTLE OR NO EDUCATION PLUS THEY ONLY LISTEN TO THIER PEER WHO ORDERS THEM TO VOTE FOR HIS FAVOURITE CANDIDATE AND THEY HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO OBEY THESE PEOPLE CAN NOT RISK THEIR LIVES WORDLY OR HERE AFTER. THE WRATH OF THE PEER FOR NOT FULFILLING HIS ORDERS HERE THE PEOPLE EVEN DREAM ACCORDING THE WISHES OF THEIR PEER. THIS BY-ELECTION SHOULD BE THE EYE OPENER TO IMRAN KHAN WHO ALSO SUPPORTED BOSIN THAT IT WOULD NOT BE A CAKE WALK IN THE NEXT ELECTION AS SOME OF HIS PARTY MEMBERS ARE TELLIN HIM . IT IS JUST A TRAILOR OF WHATS TO COME WHEN THE MAIN PICTURE BEGINS. IT ALSO SHOWS THE ZARDARI HAVE GOT HIS FIRST VICTORY FOR SACRIFICING GILAN AT THE ALTER OF THE SUPREME COURT.
AND HE WILL BECOME MORE AGRESSIVE AND ABUSIVE THIS IS REALLY A FEATHER IN HIS CAP, A TROPHY THAT WILL HAVE GREAT IMPACT IN THE PRESENT POLITICAL SCENE . AND NO OTHER MAN KNOWS BETTER THAN HIM AND HE CERTAINLY WILL CASH IT TO HIS BENEFIT. THE SLIDING GRAPH OF THE PPPP WILL ALSO GO UP WITH THIS ONE WIN.
25000 less votes were cast as compared to general election 2008 due to poor transport arrangement of election commission.

You need not to worry about the results of this by-election. This was not an election amongst parties…Only one candidate represented a party, that was PPP. All others were independent…may be they have support indirectly, but the results will be different in the coming full fledged elections.
