Double standards of Bench and Bar
Chief justice is my ideal, my hero and mentor. He emerged as saviour of nation under Lawyers movement, followed corruption cases vigorously and repatriated evaded money also. His image of saviour in corrupt society was further strengthened when he took Suo Moto notice against his own son showing the resolve, reviving of the history of Hazrat Umar.
I donot know the deeper meaning but the Quran rightly said your “Mall” and your “Aulad” is Fitna for you, incidentally this came in Chiefs way and his good image was tainted badly, as we constantly see double standards and instances of selective justice on part of apex court which is not easy to digest.
1. We know that hundreds of Suo moto cases are under trial from last 2-3 years, surprisingly the SC wrapped up Aralans case in 2-3 days that too without any finding or inquiry. It is unprecedented in the history of Suo moto leading to a double standard.
2. CJ was quick to see one bottle of whisky of Atiqa Odho but failed to see corruption and gratification of millions by his son extending to shores and casino of Monty Carlo, a merry making and gambling spot of corrupt corporate elite.
3. CJ was quick to call for tax record of Malik Riaz from 1995 to scrutinise but failed to ask for wealth statement of his own son standing in front of him, how he set up business of 900 millions in last three years under recession.
4. CJ said in court that he knew nothing about Arslans business and activities but later on we come to know that one leading lawyer and journalist told him many months back about it, which he never rebutted.
5. If a Minister do undue favour no doubt it is corruption when Arslan take favour and millions it is conspiracy, both for media and court. Is it not double standard.
6. When Malik Riaz said in court that CJ is not involved he was angle and Saviour of Iftekhar Ch and short order was based on it, when he said Arslan is corrupt and cheater taking money without being job done, he is devil. Is it not a double standard.
7. When media implicate executive it is hero being eyes and ears of judiciary, when it exposed Arslan it is villain and black mailer and get notices.
8. It is very difficult to digest but the fact remains that Values have gone out of our door Double standard is our norm now, including judges, politicians, journalist and anchors, Generals, businessmen, bureaucracy etc.
9. Bar have no exception. A Lawyer of Supreme court charges fee in millions and jubilant as Chief Taray Jan Nasar- Bay shumar ( as he get business) where as the lawyer at Tehsil and Distt level who charge Rs 4000 -5000 fee is frustrated and throw shoes on judges now and then. This is yet another example of double standard. Money make the mare go in Pakistan and bench and bar has no exception.
10. Yesterday CJ claimed in gathering that corruption has been eradicated from judiciary is tall and false claim, if so why judges are welcomed with CHATTERS in lower judiciary.
To cut short CJ has created many friends and foes over the years by way of selective justice. This is the ultimate result of double standards adopted by judiciary by overstepping its authority, where Memo gate is lifted and Arslan gate is suppressed, NRO is lifted and Mehran gate is suppressed, duel nationality is lifted and duel membership of Shehbaz Shariof (MPA) is suppressed.
