Although I urge Doctor's on strike to resume their work immediately and come up with a way of protest in which common people of Pakistan do not suffer anymore, but this video is not public reaction, it is total N-League Reaction!
Even then, humanity is much more important! This profession has lost its sacredness in Pakistan. So much materialism, commissions from medicine companies, free international tours, heavy fees in private clicks etc. We can see private colleges operating in all over the country thus lowering the standard of medical education. If you have money, you can get admission and even the degree. Most of these private colleges give license to kill innocent people. We are at the verge of a big revolution, in all respects!
I think you are also mislead by media. The things you are mentioning about commissions from medicine companies, free international tours, heavy fees in private clicks and private medical colleges are not the issues of YDA doctors. These relate to senior doctors who are working unchecked again due to no service structure.
The YDA are protesting for YOUNG doctors, first at least read what they are saying before making your judgement watching media clips as most of the general public which is illiterate and therefore PML N is taking full advantage of people like you. Don't mix issues of young doctors with senior doctors.
I am not mislead by media. I do know all these things which you mentioned and I agree with most of your demands. But this strike is added more sufferings to poor people of Pakistan. Those who lost their jobs, business, food, and basic education of their kids now deprived of very basic health facilities. Can you see your family members dying in some govt. hospital? Think these poor people as your family members! Lower your expectations and think about life hereafter. IMHO.
I am not from YDA, I am a senior doctor working abroad. I myself was a victim of lack of structure for doctors and left country in severe financial and social frustration. That is why I feel what these doctors are saying makes sense, it will stop brain drain and create incentives for doctors to stay and work in their homeland.
Look at the caption! The media is being paid by the government too (I think Zem tv is also being one of them now due to its rising viewer ship) to raise the failing popularity of this regime before elections. They are just playing with the sentiments of the people and are successful as the population is generally illiterate and can't distinguish between facts and lies.
